10 March 2022
Dear students, families and community,
It was heart-warming to meet with so many of you at Lismore High Campus and Kadina High Campus yesterday. Our thoughts are with you all at this difficult time and in particular our families who have been directly impacted by the floods. Thank you to everyone for all the amazing work you are doing, in your own ways, to support our community to come back from this.
14 - 18 March - Minimal Supervision – Minimal supervision is a school procedure we use following events such as floods where we have reduced student or staff numbers. Many of our staff, and their families were directly impacted by the flood. Minimal supervision will be available at;
· Kadina High Campus, for KHC (Year 7-12) students.
· Lismore High Campus, for RRHC and LHC (Year 7-12) students.
During minimal supervision, normal timetabled classes may not run. Supervision will involve students accessing activities. There are no expectations for students to attend; families are in the best position to make decisions to support their children.
The RRHC and LHC canteens will be merged on the LHC site. LHC and RRHC students and staff, will be provided with breakfast and lunch all next week and as needed, for the remainder of this term.
KHC will provide a breakfast club for students and families and continue to provide lunches as part of their Canteen Welfare Program.
**From 21 March, normal timetabled classes will be in place for all KHC students
Transport: At present, regular school bus services have been considerably disrupted, so until normal services resume, please be aware that students will need to be dropped off and picked up. We are seeking more advice from local bus companies about when they will become operational again. Daily updates are also being posted to www.buslinesgroup.com.au/northern-rivers We have requested the Minister of Education, speak with her colleague, the Transport Minister, to assist.
For students who will be attending the LHC/RRHC site – students can be dropped at the Dalley St and College Rd. School opening hours 9.10 - 3.15
Parking will be available for LHC and RRHC senior students in the lower carpark of Southern Cross University (behind Lismore High Campus).
Support: ‘Vouch for Lismore’ is well underway and sparking lots of interest across the state. Many of our colleagues are working with their SRC’s and P&C’s to plan mufti days, using our school colours and community-based fundraisers, to be converted into vouchers.
