Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
Our debating and public-speaking programs help students strengthen their critical-thinking, communication, and teamwork skills while giving them the opportunity to showcase their talents in local and state competitions.
Tiny Home Project
A Project with a Purpose
Twelve students participated in a new pilot program that provided hands-on experience working with professional builders, electricians, and plumbers. According to Lismore High principal Chris Williams, the idea was inspired by the loss of hundreds of homes in the Northern Rivers during the 2022 floods.
“We wanted to offer students a creative and meaningful way to explore different post–high school pathways,” Mr Williams explained. “Building a tiny home allowed them to work directly with local tradespeople on a real project that will support someone in our community. Students are seeing the real-world relevance of their learning.”
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world. Students in Years 7-11 have the opportunity to participate in camps and/or whole day activities.
Sport
We offer an extensive sports program that includes recreational, fun, and competitive opportunities for all students.
Our in-school programs are complemented by participation in interschool competitions, knockout gala days, and specialist coaching across a wide range of sports.
This diverse offering encourages students to stay active, develop their skills, and enjoy the benefits of teamwork and healthy competition.
Sport is an integral part of our school community, and we take great pride in seeing our students thrive in their chosen fields. Our students consistently demonstrate dedication, perseverance, and sportsmanship and we are committed to nurturing and supporting them as they develop their talents.
