Public transport is a great way to safely get to and from school. Buses arrive and depart from the Kadina High Campus bus bay located on Kadina Street, Goonellabah NSW 2480.

Driving and parking

The start and end of the school day are busy times for pedestrians and drivers outside schools.

When driving and parking near our school, please:

• ensure you park safely in school zones
• no parking in bus zones
• follow speed signs
• do not make U-turns or 3-point turns outside the school.

Around our school we have busy streets. Please ensure you park close to the kerb and avoid parking across residential driveways or double parking. Only park in legitimate on-street parking.

When walking with your child, please scan driveways for vehicles.

Getting to and from school safely

As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.

Keep our school community safe by:

• driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school
• being a good role model
• never calling your child from across the road
• using the safest place to cross the road.

Road Safety

Kadina High Campus welcomes careful road users. The streets that form the perimeter around the school can become very busy just before and just after school. Collectively, motor vehicles, bicycles, scooters and pedestrian traffic create a potentially dangerous road area.

We ask that all our road users obey the rules of the road and exercise courtesy and caution at all times.

Pedestrians

There are pedestrian entry points onto the school grounds at the front of the school, just off Kadina Street; on the eastern side of the school, from Allambie Drive; and at the rear of the school, from Pineview Drive.

There is one pedestrian crossings at the front of Kadina High Campus entry off Kadina Street.

Bus zone

There is a designated bus zone at the front of the school on Kadina Street. Please exercise care around buses and don't cross the road with your child in this area. Also do not park in bus zone during bus zone hours.

Staff carparks and emergency access

These are for the exclusive use of staff only and accessed from Kadina Street.

Bicycle and scooter safety

Students are allowed to ride bicycles and scooters to and from school with parental permission.

Students must wear an approved helmet that meets Australian Standards when riding a bicycle or scooter. Students must dismount and walk their bicycle or scooter across pedestrian crossings and when entering or leaving the school grounds. Bicycles and scooters must not be ridden within the school grounds. Bicycles must be stored securely in the designated bicycle racks. Students are encouraged to provide their own lock to secure their bicycle.

Drop Off and Pick Up

Pick-up and drop-off arrangements are available on Kadina Street using the designated parking spaces.
