Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) program supports students who demonstrate exceptional abilities in intellectual, creative, social-emotional, or physical domains by providing challenging opportunities that nurture their talents and inspire academic and personal growth.

What is high potential and gifted education?

Our High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) programs and practices are designed to deepen and extend students’ learning beyond the standard curriculum. Students identified as having high potential or giftedness may excel in one or more domains (intellectual, creative, social-emotional, or physical) and often benefit from enriched learning environments that cater to their pace, complexity, and depth of thinking.

The Rivers Secondary College Kadina High Campus student Mya Stanley, pictured, is being celebrated for achieving outright first and equal first in two of her 2023 Higher School Certificate courses. Mya topped the Business Service Examination and was equal first with 13 others in Mathematics Standard 2.

Congratulations to our Open Girls Rivers Volleyball team on their outstanding performance at the CHS State Volleyball Championships. The team competed with determination, skill, and teamwork, representing our college with pride and excellent sportsmanship. We are proud to share that the girls finished the finals competition in 16th place in the state — a fantastic achievement! This success reflects the values of the High Potential and Gifted Education framework, as the players demonstrated commitment, resilience, and a drive for excellence through challenge and competition.

Cooper Dendle qualified for the NSW All Schools Championships, Sydney for athletics in 2025. He placed 3rd in Shot Put with a throw of 14.02mtrs and 4th in Discus with a Personal Best throw of 48.86mtrs. Congratulations to Cooper Dendle
