Who We Are:
The Rivers Academy of STEM Excellence (RASE) is a collaborative project between local public high schools, primary schools and industry, and is designed to provide our students with access to innovative and real-world learning experiences. The academy employs two full-time STEM Project Officers who support schools through their implementation of the STEM Design Thinking Process and establishing industry links.
Our Purpose:
To develop a learning community that builds teacher confidence and capacity to embed STEM Design Thinking principles across the curriculum through collaboration, professional development opportunities and establishing connections with local industry. This will increase STEM opportunities for students and create equitable pathways that inspire them to embrace STEM learning, while building skills and knowledge that prepare them for working in and shaping the future.
The Rivers Aboriginal Dance group is made up of Aboriginal students from Kadina High, Lismore High and Richmond River High Campuses and led by a team of dedicated staff from across The Rivers Secondary College. Our students enjoy working together, celebrating and sharing their Culture through dance and music. The learning and wellbeing of our students is our first priority and as such, the group may not be able to satisfy every performance request.

6 into 7 Transition
Our Year 6 information packs have been delivered to all our partner primary schools for our prospective Year 7 students in 2026. For those families who are temporarily living out of the area and not able to attend their regular primary school, please contact your primary school principal or zoned campus for copies to be sent to you. Alternatively, this information is also available below via the links.
Student enrolments for Year 7, 2026 are currently underway for all three campuses. While Richmond River High Campus is currently sharing a site, enrolments are being accepted for 2026 at all 3 of our campuses, based on the current school zones.
Shared Curriculum Orientation
Students in Year 10 who select a Shared Curriculum subject taught at another campus, will have an opportunity to visit their host campus. This will give them an opportunity to experience what it will be like to commute to class, but also meet their prospective Stage 6 teachers, fellow students who they'll be studying with next year and have a tour of site.
